Summer Lovin

As Winter gives way to the warmer months we'll farewell the darker and heavier looks and welcome light fabrics and sexier looks.

Colour Trends
Whilst at first glance this palette looks vast it seems to play on quite a similar set of hues, featuring mostly light & bright summery colours which try to capture a younger and a more up beat tone. Stylists involved with the viannual colour meeting organised by Eurovet have said that while we will probably see these colours used on their own to some degree, we will mostly see them as parts of either embroidery or used in extremely colourful pop graffiti prints.

Fashion Trends
The start of Summer means it's time to refresh your wardrobe ; And what a time it is: the first new season for 2010, and the first since the affects of the global financial crisis have begun the wane. Take this as an opportunity to not only splurge, but to set a course for how you'll dress.

Lace
Right now you're thinking that this is nothing new. And you're right; it's an extension of the trend that's has, for some time, firmly cemented itself as its own, independent trend. So what follows is, instead, more about how to wear the trend now, and how to set yourself apart from the masses - so that you can bring it forwards and into a new league

Hot Pants and Boy Shorts
Many recent fashion trends have pointed to it, and given the popularity of the likes of it should really come as no surprise. Yes, hem lines continually become shorter as time marches on, but this may be the first season where hem lines can be predominantly measured in negative figures.

Stripes
Amongst the plethora of fashion trends for  Summer 2010 you'll find the season's new take on military fashion. While heavily influenced by 20th Century army and air force styling, nautical influenced pieces have hardly got a look in. And I'm afraid I'm not here to change that. But for those fashioniser who are nautically inclined, this Summer still has something in store. Don't think of it as a nautical military trend, however. Rather, it's the navy and white colour palette, worn as dominant stripes.
